This is the blog of a family dog named Abby in Upstate New York, who writes (in her own words)about her everyday life.

Ruby Visited

This is Ruby. My sister says she is a Newfoundland, but that can't be true, because that sounds like "New-Found-Land", and she is definitely NOT a piece of land. She wasn't very social. I tried to play with her, but besides our usual "let me sniff you in impolite places" meeting ritual, she ignored me. Can you believe it?!?!?!!? She IGNORED me!! Luckily she doesn't have a dog-blog, so she won't read this, but how lame can you be!!?!?!?! To ignore another dog and go walking on the other dog's property. The pictures of us TOGETHER are the only one's we have, because she was never really with me. She looks like a bear, too. If I looked like a bear, I would be ashamed to show my face in public!! Well, I think so at least. I mean, if I were walking with my mommy on the road and another human said" Is that a BEAR!!?!?!!?", I would be totally embarrassed. TOTALLY! What is the point of being such a wonderful species like a dog when everyone mistakens you for a bear?!?!?!?! Well, I suppose she doesn't have a choice, but still. I know I am being mean, but it's my blog and I can voice my opinion, so I thought I would......

On another note, my sister's horse got here. Now all she talks about is Daisy. Daisy this and Daisy that. Ugh!!! It's driving me nuts!!! I even got buzzed by the dumb wires that the horse is kept in. Now I have to duck really low, just in case it happens again. I went into the horse's land the first day she was here, and she CHASED ME OUT!!! I didn't know she had it in her. She just suddenly spun and ran at me. I had to get out really fast. When I was out, she acted like nothing had happened, and she kept on eating the ground like before. ( I wonder if the ground tastes that good...hmm, I'll have to try it.) Sheesh! Horses these days. They are so rude. My sister keeps on strapping a big brown thing on her back and sitting on her. She acts like it's so fun. I can do that too!! Well, to be honest (not that I'm not honest or anything), but I think she was trying to do that once with a blanket but I wouldn't let her and I ran away. Now I feel bad. Ugh, this blog makes me feel bad about a lot of stuff. Anyway, that's enough writing, I have to go. Tootles!

Boomer Wrote to Me!!

Look!! Boomer wrote me a letter. Two, in fact!! Ok, the first picture is of the postcard I got a few days ago. I was very happy with it, especially with Boomers own paw prints! I made sure that my sis clipped it to my cage, so I will always have a little piece of Boomer. It also made me feel melancholy, which is why I look a little down in the third pic. Then today, you wouldn't believe it, I got an envelope for me from Boomer that had treats in it. The fourth pic. shows how well I helped get the envelope open...I was a little shy of the camera, but the treats won me over. I really enjoyed it, so thank you so much, my Boomer-boy!!! I love you, too. Just in case you can't read what the post card says [you probably can't!], it says:
"Hey Sweetie! I miss you very much! Thank you for your present! I loved it! We have to see each other soon! [at this point he writes something that you can only find out if you can read the picture, I want to keep it personal]
Your Boomie"
See, isn't that nice?!?!?!?! I just love him! He really know how to make a girls day! Really! I love you Boomie!! Thank you so much!!
I hope you are all having a good day so far. I am!! Bye!

My Nose

Ok, I know this is kind of a gruesome picture, but my mommy took it for the fun of it, so I figured, why not put it on the blog?!?! I saw that Boomer had a picture of his nose too, so I think all us dog bloggers should try to post pictures of our noses this week. We can see the different colors, and, um....stuff. Sorry, I was just trying to give a reason to convince you guys to do it, but I couldn't think of any....So, I dare you dog-bloggers to post a nosey picture. This is kind of like a tag game, except I am tagging everyone. If you don't want to do it, fine, I just figured since I know that I have trouble finding things to post it was a good idea. Anyway, if you aren't doing it ignore all the things in yellow, and read on. Actually, there isn't anything to read because there isn't much more to say about my nose (I know, isn't is awesome?!?!?!), so I guess you can stop reading now...so...um....**cough**.....right....um....Bye!

Neighborhood Dogs

These are my neighbor-dogs! I really don't know their names, I just know that every time my mommy takes me walking there they are out. The first dog in the pictures is really old and quite annoying, I must admit. I know I shouldn't be mean to the old doggies, but really, he just follows us up the street, and he does not respond to "go home".....well, I don't think I would either, but oh well. My mom says you should respect your elders, so I guess I should, but still.......As you can see in the pictures of us together, we weren't really interested in each other very much. The last picture is of a little dog who is also very annoying. He barks, and barks, and barks!!! Sheesh, he never stops barking! I, if you can believe it, I am not a dog that enjoys barking! I hate it. I think in my entire life I have barked 15 times in all. That's it! I think that number is even too high! I HATE barking. I don't know, I just do. I will bark one bark if the doorbell rings, then I growl and hide in my cage. Great plan, isn't it?!?! I really know how to protect my humans, or not to protect my humans, for that matter. Anyway, I'm way off track. I just wanted to show you some of my neighbor dogs. I'll try to post tomorrow or Monday. Have a nice day!

The chickens are out!!!! My dad put them outside in their own little dog house! Can you believe it!?! He spent weeks building their own, personal, custom dog-house. Though I suppose now they call it a bird-house, but.....He even made a pen for them. I don't know why, though. Doesn't he know animals like me would love to go in and eat them!?!?! I just don't understand. As you can see by the first picture, I was kind-of confused at all the noise they made, because I didn't know where it was coming from. My sister opened the door for me, though, so I know what's going on now. They are very noisy. The second picture is a little funny, or at least, my sister looks funny, but it illustrates very well what I want to do with those chicks (notice my tongue hanging out), so that's why I'm using it. I can't wait until I get a chance to eat them. CLICK HERE TO GO TO MY MOM'S BLOG AND SEE PICTURES OF THE CHICKS AND THEIR BIRD-HOUSE THING
Anyway, that's about it. I am planning a few posts, so hopefully I will post again this week, so stay tuned!!

Ok, I'm posting!!! Ok, so this is a video of our dumb-bird in the tree. You can't really see him, but you can hear him!!!!!!! Geez, how dumb can you get?!?!?!?! He KNOCKS HIS HEAD into trees for a living!!!!!!!! THAT must be a great job! I really hope he has life insurance... Just knock-knock, why don't you!?!?!?! Dumb bird. How can you do it? You don't see me knocking my head into trees, do you?!?! Ok, so most of you haven't seen me at all, but you get the drift. I mean, that bird totally ruins my day. Picture this: You are lying outside in the grass on a beautiful summer day, dreaming about other handsome dogs (ahem, Boomer!), when suddenly you hear this horrible pecking!!!!!!!!!! Ugh!!!! A beautiful moment shattered!!! You know what?! Now that I think about it, I remember in our old house there was a really bad knocking in our fireplace, and you know what it turned out to be?!?! You guessed it, our dumb-bird. Well, that's what I call him. I don't know what he's really called, but he is just about the dumbest bird I ever saw, so that's what I call him. Anyway, I just had to post that......

Sorry I haven't posted in a while. My doggy life has been very busy, plus my sis keeps hogging the computer. ANYWAY, Sherman visited me the other day! It's so great to have a doggy friend visit me sometimes, I mean, my sister has friends over a lot! So, after the round of introductions, or what humans call, "checking each other out"(first picture), our mommy's started out for a walk with us. First we got all good and muddy in the stream, then we went (reluctantly) to the trail. We ran around like crazy on it. I mean, look at that pic. of Sherman running! It's priceless! I must say, thank you mommy for all these awesome pics. We went playing and running. When we got back, we kept on running! Look at that second to last photo! Running in mid-motion. It was great. Really got my mind off missing Boomer for awhile. Sherman, you really have to come again. Maybe you can help me ward off that horse when it comes. By the way, my sis made a blog about the dumb animal here.
Can you believe it?! About the HORSE!! Oh, well, she is letting me keep this blog, so......
Sherman is one quick dog, I didn't know how to keep up! I just let him lead. I always follow. I figure the other dog is probably better at finding adventures anyway, so. As you can see by the last picture, I was
EXHAUSTED by the time he left. Young dogs like him and Boomer always wear me out. It was nice, though. Come again, Sherman!
